For several
years Lightway Systems Corp. has been designing and
manufacturing a variety of non-contact inspection systems to
meet the needs of the cutting tool manufacturer. We are
conversant with the technology, terminology and stringent
"Gage R&R" requirements, this experience has
allowed us to develop the tools specific to the task.

are in use by leading manufacturers in both the North American
and European markets performing high-accuracy, non-contact,
measurement and inspection procedures unique to this industry.
Software that
reads and writes to host databases ensures data integrity for
both measurement parameters and inspection results. From
chip-breakers to coatings, radii to relief angles, Lightway
Systems Corp. has provided a system to ensure quality.
From our
first system which inspected ANSI carbide inserts for; size,
colour (coating), tip radius, IC, height, relief angle and
chipbreaker configuration at a rate of 1800 / hour to our tip-indexability
measurement system, accurate to .0002" (5m), we have
consistently provided tools that maximize production while
ensuring your customer's satisfaction.
